Question:
In the sculpture describing this station, you show mother Mary pregnant.
Does she play any role in this station?
God's answer
Co-redemptrix
She is mother at large to all who are My flesh and blood.
She is your role model. You become Her as My mate for life.
Meaning:
In Catholicism, co-Redemptrix "refers to Mary's role in
the redemption of man. She has a subordinate but essential
participation in redemption, notably that she gave free consent
to give life to the Redeemer, to share his life, to
suffer with him under the cross, to offer his sacrifice to
God the Father for the sake of the redemption of mankind.
This has always been controversial and has never formed part of the dogma
of the Church."13
Here, God explains why Mother Mary is co-redemptrix. She plays an active and passive role:
-
Active Role:
She is mother at large to all who are My flesh and blood.
When we become Jesus in flesh and blood, Mother Mary also
becomes our Mother.
-
Passive Role: She is our role model of what a soul-mate to Jesus
(true God and true man) should be, regardless of gender,
hence the use of the genderless phrase “mate for life”.
Mother Mary was devoted to God as both Her soul-mate and God.
This is why Mother Mary is called the new Eve. Eve failed both as a soul-mate
and a faithful child of God. As the first female created, she also failed as the
mother at large to all of God’s children. Mother Mary succeeded.
